 R-500 featured 640WHP Drift Car

 

Dear PLX Devices,

This R-500 Wide Band has been a superb resource for my car and shop. The optional EGT and G Senor were a excellent compliment for the PLX R-500. I use the PLX R-500 in my Nissan 240SX which has a Toyota Supra 2JZGTE swapped in it. The car makes 640WHP, it is a nice piece of mind to be able to monitor my A/F on the car while on the track. PLX has taken wide bands to a whole new level by allowing me to monitor my EGT, Knock, G-meter and so much more. One of my favorite parts about the R-500 is being able to data log my track sessions. The real time dyno software is another cool feature I enjoy as well. When I first received my R-500 I was impressed with how many features it had, but at the same time unsure of how easy it was going to use. Once I had it installed it was very straight forward to use and the software for my lap top was very user friendly. I had my car wired for the R-500 and using there software on my lap top in a matter of hours. I can’t begin to tell how straight forward everything was. This unit worked so well, I now tune my customers cars with it. It is a must have resource here at my shop. With all the functions and features there is no need to buy several other meters for tuning or data logging.  I’m a 100% satisfied customer with PLX Devices and would like to thank everyone at the PLX team for coming out with such a great all in one innovation.

“Tuning with the DM-100 using the warning features”

In this article I would like to share some suggestions when using warning features with the DM-100. Using the DM-100 with the SM-AFR and SM-Vac/Boost you will want to take these steps when setting up your warnings.  First, use the P1 & P2 “scheme” (assuming you have the AFR as Parameter1 and Vac/Boost as Parameter2). Then you set Parameter1 AFR>13 & Parameter2 BST > 2. Now you are set up so that anytime you are over 2LB’s of boost and the AFR is leaner than 13:1 you see the warning light. That is just one example, you could also use the same “scheme” with the SM-EGT or the NEW SM-AIT, and the Possibilities are endless. Bottom line is when using the DM-100 warnings to tune a Turbo car it has saved me big time.
