Introduction:

Measure your precise air/fuel ratio and data log your engine parameters with wireless USB connectivity to your PC! The M-400/M-500 wideband oxygen sensor controllers have 6 input data logging capabilities to capture, store, and playback virtually ANY signal to and from your ECU.

Description:

The M-Series Wideband Oxygen Sensor Controllers are extremely simple to use and to setup.  Simply, connect the power wires to a 12V source, snap the sensor wire harness with the oxygen sensor and you're ready to start measuring your automobile's air/fuel ratio within minutes!  PLX Devices widebands are guaranteed accurate to 0.1AFR with proven technology which yields extremely fast reaction times.

The M-400/M-500 features a built-in 6 input(2 speed, 4 analog) data logger. The 2 speed inputs can be connected to any signal which gives a pulse (Freq Range: 0Hz-10KHz) and the 4 analog inputs can be connected to any signal which gives a voltage between 0-5V. Analog voltages between 5V-25V will be capped at 5V and will not damage the data logger. Here are a few examples of signals that can be logged by the M-500.

Vehicle Speed (MPH/Kmh) Ignition Pulse (RPM) Shaft Speed Sensors Knock Sensor
Throttle Position (TPS) MAP Mass Air Flow Sensor Brake Signal
Air Intake Temp (AIT) Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) PLX Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio
PLX G Sensor (Single Axis) PLX G Sensor (Dual Axis)

Check out our continually updated ECU Database for specific application integration. The M-500 interprets the information from the 6 input channels and transmits, in real time, 10 samples/sec. The Wireless RX Module receives the signal and sends information through your PC's USB port. Typical operating range is 10-20ft. The PLXLogger software, FREE Download, can then be fully customized to display and analyze your desired information.

All M-Series Controllers come with two analog outputs, linear wideband and narrowband. Our linear wideband output gives you the freedom to interface with a number of tuning devices, piggy back fuel systems and stand alone engine management systems. The linear wideband output signal updates at 100KHz (100,000 times/sec). This signal can be sampled as fast as 50KHz. With the narrowband output you are able to completely replace your stock narrowband sensor and "feed" our analog signal directly into your ECU. This eliminates the hassle of welding a second sensor bung on your down pipe. Your ECU will "think" that your narrowband sensor is still there while you're measuring wideband information at the same time!

The M-400 and M-500 continuously updates the corresponding air/fuel ratio 10 times per second (10Hz) on its integrated 4 digit digital display. If the air/fuel ratio is measured below 10:1, the LED displays "rich," and if the air/fuel ratio is measured above 20:1, the LED displays "lean". The LED display is visible even in bright sunlight conditions.

Wideband Controller Technology:

Tech Article: PLX Critical Response Wideband Technology

Our race proven M-Series wideband controllers utilize the latest digital PID and DSP technologies to maximize o2 sensor reaction time and accuracy without compromising overshoot, and slow settling response time. This technology is coupled with advanced self sensor calibration circuitry and sensor soft start to both prolong the life of your oxygen sensor as well as eliminating any user intervention for manual sensor calibration. PLX widebands may be used and installed in your vehicle permanently.
